JOHN DILLEY John Dilley is a director and writer based in San Francisco, CA. His first short film, Little Failures, premiered at the Sundance Film Festival. It was an Official Selection at France's Clermont-Ferrand Short Film Festival, which has been heralded as one of the most important short film festivals in the world. The film also screened at the Los Angeles Film Festival, and the STARZ Denver Film Festival, among others. John's second film, How To Be Popular, based on the New York Times Magazine article of the same name, premiered on PBS and has gone on to screen at various festivals around the country. In 2006, John's work was featured in a program by emerging filmmakers at the Cinémathèque Française in Paris. John has directed commercials and web spots for companies from Microsoft Xbox to Torani Syrup, through agencies such as AKQA and Duncan Channon. He has occasionally even APPEARED in ads, though rather reluctantly. John was born and raised in Oakland, California and is a graduate of San Francisco State University.
